Lieven Annemans, professor in health-economics, joins forces with Vintura as an expert in health economics, to further improve patient access to medical innovation. Prof. dr. Lieven Annemans is a professor in Health-Economics at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of Gent University. Annemans is well-renowned for his extensive international experience in multiple medical domains. He has many qualities and titles: academic, former president of ISPOR, former cabinet advisor, consultant and Europe’s most entertaining health-economist.

Prof. dr. Lieven Annemans is a professor in Health-Economics at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of Ghent University. For 8 years he has been president of the Flemish Healthcare council. In 2004, he was elected President of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR). In addition, he is a former cabinet advisor (2000-2003) of then-secretary Frank Vandenbroucke. Lieven Annemans became Laureate of the Francqui chair in 2013 and in 2016. Since early 2017 he holds the faculty chair in “Healthy and Happy living”, a joint initiative of the UGent and Delta Lloyd Life. He is the author of the books ‘Health economics for non-economists’ (2008), ‘The price of your health – is our healthcare in danger?’ (2014) and “Your money or your life in healthcare” (2016). In addition, he has written more than 300 international scientific publications on health-economics.
